0

Tannersville, Pa. – December 21, 2016 – This evening, Camelback Resort officially debuted its new Galactic Snowtubing attraction  – an illuminated, exhilarating after-dark snowtube experience that is unlike anything else in the country. Following an official ribbon cutting ceremony, special invited guests and media were among the first to launch themselves down the country’s largest snowtubing park, completely transformed with lasers, music, and an amazing LED light show across all 42 high-speed lanes.

Also new is Base Camp 1 Lodge, located at the base of the snowtubing park. Here guests can purchase snowtubing tickets, relax between exhilarating snowtube runs, and warm up with a cup of hot cider or cocoa and the Camelback tradition of hot waffles, day or night. After a break or snack, guests can quickly and effortlessly get back to the snowtubing thrills by way of two magic carpets that take both tube and rider back to the top.

“Not everybody skis or snowboards, but snowtubing is a fun, outdoor winter activity that everyone can participate in,” said Brian Czarnecki, vice president of sales & marketing. “Camelback Resort is already home to the largest snowtubing park in the country, and the launch of after-dark Galactic Snowtubing completely transforms the experience.”

Make a splash on your birthday in Aquatopia

0

If your idea of birthday fun is anything like mine— a little bit of thrill mixed with some poolside leisure—you need to add Aquatopia, Camelback Resort’s indoor waterpark, to your list. Whether it’s cold or rainy, it’s your 12th or 30th—it’s always 84 degrees Fahrenheit inside Aquatopia.  And with a wave pool, lazy river, adult only swim up bar, plus 13 waterslides—you got all you need— to make a splash on your special day.

13 Waterslides: from Family Fun to Free Fall

From the curious cadets to the thrill seekers, Aquatopia has something for everyone to try. Out of the 13 waterslides, Alex and I tried 10.  Alex’s favorite ride by far was the Skydive Plummet, a body slide that features a 60-foot free fall drop. As for me, I couldn’t decide between the Venus Slydetrap, a six-rider slide that mimics a pendulum, and the Constrictor, a fast tube slide that constricts and expands. However, one thing was constant. At the beginning each ride, a friendly and helpful staff member was there to greet us.

My close friends and family know that I get squeamish about public pools. However, I have to say, the floor, the walls, and even the water at wave pool in Aquatopia was exceptionally clean and free of the globs of dirt that make my stomach turn. In fact, I didn’t think twice about splashing my way into the deep end at the sound of the bell, which signals the return of the waves.

Party Rooms for the Kids & Adult Only Swim Up Bar

A proper 30th birthday celebration includes frozen treats at the adult only swim up bar.  Party rooms and cabanas are also available to rent for those who want some privacy. You can also purchase a birthday party package, includes pizza and cake plus much more, a great option for the kids.

Float & Soak

What’s better than stretching your legs and resting your head on a leisurely ride down Lost River? For maximum benefits, I recommend at least three go arounds. Don’t forget to keep your eyes open for waterfalls.  And before you call it a day, I suggest soaking your tired bones in Mystic Springs, a hot tub that is both inside and outside. It’s a perfect ending to a splash-tastic day.

Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark Completes Phase Two Of Construction

0

A VISION IN THE MAKING FOR 20 YEARS – THE 453-SUITE CAMELBACK LODGE IS NOW COMPLETE

TANNERSVILLE, PA. – July 24, 2015 – Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, opened Phase I on May 1, 2015 and has welcomed tens of thousands of guests to the biggest indoor waterpark in the Northeast, announces the completion of Phase II: an additional 216 guest suites, Serenity Spa & Fitness Center, and Trails End Pub and Grille. The 453-room indoor waterpark resort, nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, is now complete. Camelback Resort now offers more adventure, activity and amenities in one mountain destination than anywhere else in the country.

For more than 20 years, long-time friends and Camelback Resort co-owners, Arthur Berry III and Ken Ellis, who is also the President and CEO of Aquatic Development Group, the lead designer and builder of Aquatopia, envisioned developing an indoor waterpark resort of their own. After years of research and planning, they purchased Camelback Resort in 2005 with the plan to one day transform the seasonal ski and outdoor waterpark attraction into a year-round, overnight destination. In the 10 years that ensued, they expanded the operations of the ski resort to offer world-recognized terrain-based learning programs, winning the coveted Conversion Cup in 2014 from the National Ski Area’s Association, expanded the attractions at Camelbeach Waterpark, the largest outdoor waterpark in Pennsylvania, opened Camelback Mountain Adventures, offering zip-lines, multiple tree-tops courses and steel Mountain Coaster, and now, after 18 months of construction, completed Phase II of Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark.

“Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia is designed to be vastly different from your typical indoor waterpark resort,” said Berry. “Because of our mountain location, we appeal to a very broad demographic and generational mix. Since opening our doors in May, we’ve welcomed a lot of families, but also couples, groups, wedding parties, honeymooners, and outdoor enthusiasts. Our guests have embraced not only the amenities located inside the new Lodge, but the outdoor adventures as well. With the opening of Phase II, we are now able to accommodate even more guests by doubling the guest rooms, and deliver a superior guest experience through an array of services.”

The $163 million Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is the largest single expenditure in the 52-year history of Camelback Resort. With its close proximity to New York and Philadelphia, Camelback is nationally known in the ski industry for converting new skiers and snowboarders in the Northeast to lifetime snowsport’s enthusiasts and serves as an important feeder resort to larger Western ski areas. The completion of Camelback Lodge and the transformation to a year-round destination is a game changer not only for Camelback Resort, but quite possibly for the entire ski industry. For Camelback Resort owners Berry and Ellis, simply put, it’s a dream, spanning two decades, come true.

With Phase II complete, Camelback now offers 453 guest rooms and suites in 20 different configurations, designed to accommodate families, couples and large groups. Phase I included 237 guest suites while Phase II introduces the additional 216, including several new larger styles and loft suites that can accommodate up to 14 guests. Camelback Lodge’s mountain-modern architecture and design extends throughout all 453 guest rooms and suites.

Trails End Pub & Grille

Camelback Lodge’s newest slope-side restaurant and pub, Trails End Pub & Grille, serves a gourmet take on American classics. At the core of the menu is The Burger Expedition, a build-your-own burger offering guests four protein and cheese choices, 12 sauces, eight garden options and ten additional gourmet add-ons. For the biggest of appetites, a 55oz. Tomahawk Steak can be served to one brave soul or family-style. During the winter months, guests ski or snowboard right up to the patio and warm themselves by the outdoor fireplaces. In addition to Trails End Pub & Grille, Camelback Lodge offers two other restaurants, Hemispheres and Neptunes, as well as multiple eateries, all of which are open to the general public.

Serenity Spa

Following an invigorating day of adventure, Serenity Spa welcomes adults to a mountainside sanctuary to relax and

unwind. Moms and dads can take turns and steal an hour or two of quiet restful time while the kids play in Aquatopia. Camelback Resort guests can recharge sore muscles after completing the tree-tops adventure course or a long day of skiing this winter. Designed to move the soul and pamper the body, Serenity Spa offers a spectacular panoramic view of Camelback Mountain, nine treatment rooms, and a variety of services including, massages, body wraps, salt or sugar scrubs, peels, wax services, manicures and pedicures. manicures. Serenity Spa uses award-winning skin care lines including Eminence Organic Skin Care of Hungary and FarmHouse Fresh Goods. The spa is open Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and advanced reservations are encouraged. Oasis Kids Spa pampers the younger guests and opened as part of Phase I. Both the adult and kid’s spa are open to the public.

World Exploration and Discovery Theme Abounds

Intricately designed with a story to be told, Camelback Lodge is adorned in a world discovery theme. At the helm is fictitious legendary explorer, Kartrite Van Der Berris, who has filled the Lodge from his worldly expeditions. Blending rustic craftsman style and contemporary finishes throughout the property, the awe-inspiring Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is immersed with travel artifacts and theming, including an actual Snow Cat, a suspended replica DHC-2 Beaver Float Plane, and maps and journals depicting Kartrite’s travels, delivering an experience that is fun and educational. Expedition relics, tools and journals are further displayed throughout the common areas and in the Grand Study.

Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is located at Camelback Resort just 90 minutes from New York City and two hours from Philadelphia in the Pocono Mountains at 193 Resort Drive, PO Box 168, Tannersville, PA.  For more information about Camelback Lodge or to make a reservation call 855-515-1283 or visit www.CamelbackResort.com.

Great Wolf Lodge Pocono Mountains Debuts First of its Kind Interactive Waterslide

0

Slideboarding Gaming Experience Is All Wet

Today, Great Wolf Lodge, the premier indoor waterpark resort in the Pocono Mountains, officially opened its new waterslide experience, Slideboarding, to excited resort guests. To help with the festivities, the resort’s own Wiley the Wolf helped cut the “Goggle Garland” after the first father/son team came splashing down from their competitive ride.

Slideboarding is a unique water slide attraction, and the first of its kind on the East Coast. The fun experience begins when riders choose their Slideboard and enter their player name – or avatar – at the attraction’s entrance. From there, the interactive journey begins with a video game that is truly all wet.

Before sliding into action, riders choose their favorite type of music from an expansive playlist, and then take their position on the unique Slideboard. From there, the transition from passive rider to active player begins. Throughout the slide, LED lights flash and light up, encouraging the player to click corresponding colored buttons on the handles of the Slideboard. The game experience ends with a splash and the eager anticipation of earning the day’s high score.

The Great Wolf Lodge Pocono Mountains has two Slideboarding attractions in its indoor waterpark. Later this summer, Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg, in Virginia, will also debut a Slideboarding attraction for its guests.
